Two weeks into our womens' beginner rides and it's going great.
Those who have shown are very enthusiastic and eager to ride their bikes! I hope to see even more riders as the weeks go on!

Last Wednesday night commitment tomorrow night until the fall, so expect me next Wednesday, and many more Wednesdays, for the ride.
Bike Week is upon us and there is no better way to celebrate the most awesome invention ever then to join Stacey on Wednesday June 2nd.
Stacey will be departing from Sportwheels 6:30 so be there to enjoy a ride!!
Count me in if it is still on!
It's still on! We're heading to McDonald Sportspark tonight...so I'll either see you at the shop at 630, or you can meet us at the Sportspark. Gonna be a good time for sure. :)
Had a great time on the group ride last night. I think most of the ladies biked down the "Hill of Destiny". I chose to walk it but I did get down another steep hill that I was pleased about. Each time I get on a familiar trail, it is an improved ride over the last time. Looking forward to the ride at Nine Mile River on Sunday. We don't want rain.
DAY TRIP!!!
When: July 11th
Where: Links (Kentville)
The links is a trail system that beginners and advanced riders will enjoy. It combines mostly smooth single track with short sections of double track, some bridges, and of course some fast descents! A definite must visit trail!
Details:
Meet at Sportwheels 9am. Park in the back parking lot and we'll carpool to the valley for a day of awesome riding!
Necessities:
You and your bike!
It would be wise to bring extra water, some riding food (gels, energy bars or similar), and some bug dope.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy one of the best trail systems in the province!
Tonight's ride is cancelled, sadly, due to the rain. See ya all next week - rest up - it should be a good ride!
Due to the weather and impending thunder showers, I have been advised to cancel the ride. Better to be safe! So, unfortunately, there will be no ride tonight. This, sadly, brings the Girls' rides to an end, for the season. Watch out for impromptu women's rides during the fall/winter, though. And definitely tune in next season for another edition of the Girls' rides!
Thank you to everyone who came out this year. It was an absolute blast!
Happy Riding!!!

Stacey did a great job of hosting the girls rides and I'd like to say a big thank you for her doing so.
As mentioned in the Tuesday night group ride posts we are having a year end BBQ at my cottage on September 25th. Stacey has forwarded some email addresses and I'll be sending some directions etc along.
We will be having a bonfire, fireworks, food, some games and lots of fun!
With the success of our weekly mountain bike rides over the last two years Sportwheels has decided to offer a womens only version!
Despite our best intentions, us males tend to let our testosterone get the best of us. For that reason, it is vital to have a male-free zone for female riders.
Starting Wednesday, May 12th Stacey Taylor will lead a ride around local trails. The goal is to have fun in a laid-back environment. Experience not required! All we are looking for is any female with a mountain bike willing to go for a ride.
When: Every Wednesday starting May 12th. Meet at Sportwheels and we will depart from there.
Why: Why not?
Where: Meet at Sportwheels. Please park in the back parking lot!
