Did that XC at Whopper with you on Saturday, got up early and drove out to Kepoch Sunday and did some DH runs. They have done alot of work out that way and the trails are in mint shape. Came home and watched the replay on freecaster of the WC. What a race.
Good rides this weekend?
went for a coast around town, wifey took ss out for maiden spin to see if everything is good. Does that count?
we rode a third of our trail, did 3 hours of maintenace, and rode the third out. the trail was almost bone dry and fast. we did the resized drop without blinking. as usual the trail didn't let us down.
did the shubie gravel yet again, yawnnnnnnn. and stuck my head in the spider for a few minutes. feeling very unfit as of late need to spend time on the bike and get back in the woods.
Just got back from flying off tabletops and railing berms at Highland suckas!
meh. I don't need to drive to Highland for table tops and berms.
How far of a drive from Halifax to Highland?
About 10hrs to north conway, highland is another 1hr or so from there.
Probably heading down that way around natal day :D
hey tony, you guys heading up again this year?
Its for sure a future riding destination for me, not sure if it will be this season though. Basically same distance as MSA or Bromont.
yeah pretty much.
Have you been to MSA and/or bromont? Whats it like there, heading to Montreal for a wedding and taking bikes, only have a day at each hill... easy enough to find your way around?
MSA is the Mecca of real Downhill. ITs as Gnarly as it gets pretty much. Their are easier trails there but they arent what its famous for and they can get boring. Its worth going just to see what the WC Trak is all about at St Anne. And its not the easiest place to find your way around. Actually Tour Duex is a super fun track with a tonne of line options all the way down. I suppose it could be kinda hard to navigate if you were by yourself up there for the first time though. Lots of open fire road stuff and darting in and out of woods.
Ive never been to Bromont, from what I hear its alot safer and alot more groomed with something for everyone.
Expect rain.
Great to see people chatting on here! I've been squeezing a bunch of rides in. This coming Monday, Ryan and I are taking a class from Horton High's 02 program out for a trail ride and some bike history. This is a great day in the making.
Can't wait to check out the work going on at Keppoch. They've been at it pretty hard with the vollys. Awesome to see!
Who's riding later? That's what I wanna know!
later today? we might be riding the range, after we pick up my frame and fork from sportwheels. probably after supper time.
lol really?
LOL really what?
that we're going to the range after picking up frame. News to me, and I'm teh driver.
Whtas the problem, you have like 4 hours notice.
ordinarily that would be more than enough time, except can't take bikes with that car yet...
You heading to the valley sat?
oh, i thought we're also riding. so when are we riding this week? or are you going to give me time to put the devinci together?
maybe tomorrow if the rain holds off, usual place.
Will have the truck then too so can actually take bikes.
hmmm.... the usual place. can't wait.
Time to get a hitch on the BMW! Get on that one :)
he must teach wife to drive stick, so he can use the nissan, which has bike rack for four.
for a bottle of tanqueray ten, I'll teach Kelly!
Had to actually google what that is lol
She knows the how, just needs to practice moving the three limbs in the right order.
chain drop, fight off flipping over bars, shoulder roll across sharp pointy rocks. best time ever. bruises and abrasions won't stop me from going again as long as we have permission. must correct bike from dropping chains first.
doesn't the thread title say "good rides"? ;-)
it was a good ride. the bruises and abrasions remind me so.

How was everyone's weekend? I got a couple of loops in at Whopper with a couple of different groups. Varying speeds. The trails are drying nicely.
Where'd you go? How was your ride?
Did you watch any WC DH this morning?
