Gorge Roll Call July 11th 2010

Hey everybody:

Just gonna post this up to get everybody psyched for the upcomming Gorge DH. The trail is runing great. There is a few small improvements but its otherwise the same format as last fall.
We are also planning on doing the movie night again with the hopes of doing it at Kentville Paddy's. All info will be posted in this thread as well as the Facebook page:

Pumped for the shuttle. This years trail is going to be awesome. How often do you get a chance to race a full on freeride trail.

I'm there!

If I get stuff fin on the triplex I'll try to get out there for the sat.

Nice, been really looking forward to this. Do you know what movie or movies will be played? Oh and whats this about a shuttle Derk?

dayummmm... missing this one. Always love the course though.

Go ride, race - whatever. The valley boys / trails have it going on!

We will be running one pickup + a trailer. The truck will pick up riders at the top of the stairs and drop off at the entrance to the single track that leads to the Tower.

News: Movie night is a go! Saturday 8-10 @ Paddy's Pub in Wolfville. Come on by, watch some sick flicks and have a time!!

The Faceplant page is opaque to us technophobes, can you give me an idea of race times on Sunday Dave? I appear to have developed a clash but I've my finger's crossed the racing will finish in time. Yes I know; priorities, priorities...

What time do you need to leave?

4:30ish?

yeah you should have plenty of time. Race runs will start noon ish I suspect.

Hoping to get out there somehow. Not sure about racing as I haven't touched my mountain bike yet this season but making pictures or helping out at least would be just as fun.

Movie night is most likely! :D

Ya mark!!!! Racing should be done around 2. And because of the tmming system the should be handed shortly after. This going down rain or shine.
On a side note I have been having great difficulty contacting Tamarra at BNS. My paperwork was submited in march and fees payed. But I have no idea who our commisares are. I havevbeen calling, leaving messages, emailing, and having nice chats with the receptionist at sport nova scotia. So we might be running this with no commie in the rain.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to it!

Dave... can you get me an e-mail please? We don't have a chief commissaire this year so assigning commies has been kind of a crap shoot. Most races have just been using their commies form last year, or someone within their club.

I didn't realize you guys didn't have one lined up.

The weather is looking great for the Shuttle ride on Saturday, and the forcast is for periods of light rain on Sunday. This might actually be preferable to the 30+ degree weather we've been having. We will have several tents on site and the shuttle running all weekend.

I look forward to seeing everybody and gettin rowdy!!!!!!!!

Cheers

yeah it's looking pretty good now. Will be a super duper awesome time!

Big thanks going out to Andrew(09man) for securing Mr geoff murrey for our commi this weekend. I really appreciate it guys!!
Things are shapping up for a great weekend!

Bike thanks going out to Matt (Burnsie) Burns for the sweet hook up from Michelin. We got some great prizes from the Waterville Michelin plant.

While we're thanking people.. Big thanks to Justin from Dakine for the sweet hook up. Some dope gear up for grabs people!

Also if any non races would like to help out Sunday with marshaling that would rock. It's a easy - yet essential - job. Blow a whistle when a rider passes by. Volys get entered in to the draw prizes too.

Im totally up for marshalling if someone wants to drive me there. I'm also able to make some pictures while Im there.

Woah, today was so fun. Great race guys, and in typical gorge fasion, lots of rain. Those who didnt go missed a good time.

Thanks Chris! Good times fo show, and a good turn out considering the rain.

Epic weekend. Road rash and some broken bones( best wishes for a quick recovery you guys ) Gaps, step downs and greasy shoots all make a perfect weekend. Big thanks to all the valley boys for a great race.

And also some running out of gas an hour away from home!

Thanks so much everyone for a wonderful weekend and for all those that helped put it together!

I'm still dreaming of a dry race at the Gorge (Sat was just amazing). Nonetheless, great fun in the wet, and how close are a lot of those times given the conditions?! Thanks to all who made it happen.

Sounds like an awesome day, lads! Great successes. Was in Cape Breton representing at some family events. I can't wait to go play on that course as I haven't been up this season yet.

Yeah Brandon and Chris! Crazy times in the grease. Wish I could of got out there but glad to see it was a success and people had fun!
