Missing Thread?

There was recently an interesting debate on this forum regarding a bicycle shop's obligation to help somebody out of a jam.

What happened to the thread?

chun li !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna go with the it was removed by admin Staff

those threads have a tendency to get out of hand.. not sure if that thread made a turn for the worse or not but I'd suspect it was removed so it dd not

I haven't deleted any threads in at least a year. I still have admin power, but I don't use it since I'm not on the brass anymore. Even when I was active, offhand I don't recall deleting any threads.

I'm going to go with dropped content during routine maintenance.

maybe the person who posted , deleted the thread.

It was there, then it wasn't for a day, then it was back, now it's gone again????????

Def. sounds like dropped due to maintenance then. Start it again because I doubt you'll see it anymore.

I originally posted the thread that now appears to be missing. I, as the original poster, did not take any step to have it removed, and I am disappointed to see that it has been. The purpose of the thread was to report an event, and then allow people to make an informed decision about who they wish to do business with.

I'm not going to re-type the original post. I don't know why the Thread was removed, but if there was something in the original post that was of concern, than whoever removed it should have contacted me asking why it was written the way it was. If the thread was removed due to something written in the replies, than those replies should have been removed rather than the entire thread. Everything that was written in the original thread was truthful and could have been confirmed by other people who were there at the time.

Again... I'm betting on maintenance as opposed to moderation as the only moderation that happens these days, to the best of my knowledge, is removal of spam that occasionally breaches the security.

FWIW, I'm sure you had good intentions of giving people food for thought. But I really can't imagine anyone here forming an opinion based on a thread started by someone who rarely, if ever, posts on this site. Not that your experience doesn't count for anything... it's just that with the anonymity of the internet that stuff generally doesn't go anywhere without a reputation to back it up. A more effective course of action would be to contact the manager of the establishment and discuss the matter with them. In all places as a consumer you stand to gain a great deal by going up a level within a company if you're not pleased with something.

I didn't remove anything, and that leaves one admin... My take on policy around here is unless someone is just being a total asshole, the posts stay.

Hmm, I will look a little more in to this. I don't want this place to be audited etc...

thanks for bringing it to our attention and please, in the meantime - I urge you to repost.

Who's the other admin? You can take my admin if you want... it's a really nice jacket, someone should wear it.

Meh, if you don't want those privileges, I can shut it off. Mike is the other admin... or is he. I don't know if he's been around here much.
She's a quiet neck of the woods :)

Hey
