Parks around HRM and Atlantic Canada

I followed the Shoreline:Dirtworks link to see what they're up to, and looks like they've got 7 park builds listed on their site. I don't know where all of these parks are.

There's a trails section on Cogeyed, but is there any central repository for Skate/DJ/Pump parks around? Should we start one?

Rockhopper, We'll be listing precise locations for all of the parks as they are completed. Likely with a little fancy map, too...

The reason we're not listing locations yet is that they're not all fixed up. The program got no attention last summer from maintenance, so we've proposed a new maintenance program, as well as revamp program.

So you know - what has been fixed so far:
Maplewood Bike Park (Maplewood Subdivision, Pockwock area): Great beginner area. Small triangle course with some berms, smaller jumps and rollers.

Leeward Drive (off Hammonds Plains) - Fixed up. 3 nice jumps for beginner - intermediate. A couple of berms and rollers. There's a Pump Track there which doesn't see much use....

Church Street (Wellington). Totally Rebuilt. Added jumps, flow, start ramp, berms and a pump track.

Mount Edward Road (conrad ball field area): Totally redone. Some really big booter jumps, medium and small jumps. A pump track with some absolutely amazing option lines for advanced riders, however suitable for all levels.

I'm working on a photo and/or video montage for all of the parks and programs going on this summer.

Did you notice the Summer Gravity Camps happening at Sugarloaf, NB as well?

if it still exists, check out the halifax skatepark coalition site. they should have a good listing of the skate styled parks. you'd be surprised at the amount of concrete parks in the province.

Eric if you want to try Fall river DJ's some time let me know. I'm not much of a dirt guy but you're never to old to learn.... I hope ;-)

Looks like FR just got fixed up.

They did, They re-bulit the WHOLE park! the jumps are great! Come ride them before the lips are ruined by little kids :/

Glad you folks like it! We'll be back to finish up the bottom bits soon, until then shred hard!

Ryan.

Will do.
Ryan you should come to the Commons again sometime, without the rain of course!!

The lips need alittle fixing i might bring a shovle down today and fix the rut out of the jump in the middle.

Good onya for bringing shovels around. You and all your buddies are how the park will stay in tip shape between maintenance visits by us.
We do the main bits, but it's important to bring a shovel and fix your divots and lips or the park will just rut. The more you and your friends keep the lips and landings in shape, the better your park will be.

And as a friendly reminder to the locals there- if the park riders decide to change jumps
in to gaps that we will be sending a dozer in to flatten the place!! We took two of them out for that reason and we rebuilt it. This is an exception to the rule-
not the norm.

As much as this is your park. It's an HRM park and has to exist safely.

Ride ultra hard and enjoy!!!!

Here are directions from the high way to the Truro Skate park. It's a full concrete park with a half bowl, a few boxes, a spine, an vert wall, a sub box and tonnes of flow. The best thing about it is mainly only bikers ride there.

enjoy.

Pumptrack!

I've been doing a few dirt jumps on my P.2, but I still suck. :)

However, I'm loving the pumptracks! So far I've tried out Glenbourne and Mt. Edward, and also Victoria Park. Gotta get more people doing this! They're great for new riders, too.

Hoping to be around in the next couple of weeks to re-tweak the parks again. Some fun times learning to grow with HRM / Workers Comp and stuff .. joyous occasions!
