I have the Hero 1080 which has the 720 @ 60/fps. That is what I usually record in just because it is still HD and always have the option of slowing down if you want. I haven't really recorded a whole lot in 1080. The other nice thing with the Hero 1080, it has the port on the back to allow you to use the little screen if you want to pick it up later. That is think is going to be my next purchase. The other item is the battery backpack, doubling record time. It also needs this port, however, you can buy just the battery and change it up yourself in between runs down the hill.
I have reviewed my 720 @ 60fps video compared to a friends 720 @ 30fps and was sure i saw a difference in fluidity of the video, especially on rough terrain. Video was taken on the same day, no more than a few bike lengths apart. The only thing I can't remember is where each of us had the cameras mounted. Rigidity of the mount is key.

Yeah got the 960 and chest mount.
Have to play with angles a bit but pretty sweet so far!
Looking forward to playing with it actually, already dreaming up crazy contraptions to attach this thing to :D
Waterproof to 180ft right? AV out right??? Hmmmmmmmmm

I just got the Helmet Hero HD 1080. Pretty sweet. I've told all my family and friends to check with my GoPro registry for gift ideas. :)

looking to get a helmet type cam in the next week or so, FS has the gopro 960 for couple hundred bones and others for a bit more.
The 960 seems to do what I want, 720p, its wide angle etc. the only thing I'm a little worried about is the lack of 60fps.
For those who have helmet cams, how often do you use the 60fps? How much of a difference does it make to average filming? Do you use the 60fps to be able to do beter quality slow mo? (ie run 60fps vid, at 30fps, and you get half speed with the smoothness of 30fps...)
Its the slowmoability thats got me a tad concerned!
(need to be able to watch my future crashes in slow mo glory!)
