Check out "the links" in woodville, not too far away from Sherwood forest campground (10-15 min drive) directions should be in the trails section on here.
VAlley Riding
Two trails worth checking out:
Beginner-friendly:
Pumphouse Loops/Seven Bridges. From Sherwood Forest, drive towards Kentville. About 0.5 km from the 101 overpass, turn into Mitchell Ave. on the left. Go to the end of the road. Trail starts at the pumphouse there. Down the hill at the end of the road is the Kentville Rail-to-Trail. Just beside the pumphouse is the Connector Trail to the Seven Bridges Road. To the right and left of the Connector trail are the Pumphouse loops - short singletrack loops. Keep going on the Connector to Seven Bridges Road. Turn right and follow the dirt road across the rail to trail. Go past the sand pit. You'll come to an intersection. Right is a loop that takes you to the center trail. Center trail takes you around to the Evergreen Special Care home. The forest here is marked Coldbrook Provincial Park on Google Maps. The left turn at the intersection takes you to a nice loop and some ATV trails in a suburban neighbourhood.
Advanced:
The Gorge and Phase 2. Keep driving toward Kentville. At the ball fields look on the right for Gladys Porter Drive. At the end of the road is a parking area. This is the start of the Gorge Trail. Ride the long climb on the wide, grassy trail to the top. The singletrack trails you'll see on your way up are the Gorge trails. When you get to the top, look for a some singletrack at the top (on your left if you followed the left hand trail to the top). A fairly short section will take you to a dirt road, where you will see the tower used for the Downhill race starts.
If you turn left, on the left you'll see the entrance to the Gorge Downhill trail.
If you turn right, and ride down the road, look to your right for the entrance to Phase 2. Careful, it's easy to miss the entrance.
Both trails are techy singletrack, with steep downhills and uphills, with bridges, ladders, jumps and hucks, if you're into that sort of thing.
If you happen to ride Phase 2, and come back out on the Route 1, ride across the street, to the back of the Evergreen home parking lot, and get on the Kentville Rail to Trail. Turn right, and ride it back to the ball fields. Find a driveway that takes you past the ball fields back to Route 1, and you should be near Gladys Porter Drive again.
Thanks a lot Rockhopper, that's a great description.
If you need a tour guide I'd be willing to meet up for a spin this weekend. Sunday or Monday.
I'll be in the Gorge later today digging.
ohh Rockhopper forgot to mention the entrance to P2 is a few minutes ride down the road. So don't expect to see it right away. If you make it to the end of the dirt road you've got about a k to far. when you turn around the entrance will be on your left right at the top of a small hill.
mmm... valley dirts.
tomorrow, do it.
I am .. early ride in gasperau, then a couple of DH laps. likely be in and out of there before you're even awake, sleepy!

We will be camping at Sherwood Forest Camp Ground and would like to do some mtbing while there.
Are there any trails near this camp ground which is in Cold Brook just past Kentville?
We are looking for trails from beginner to advanced.
Thanks.
