Victoria Secret XC

Mtb season opener, stellar course, dreamy weather forecast, Ryan L showboatin' mad skillz, smooooth Hub Cycle organization... this should be a killer event this weekend!

Looks like there'll be so much firepower missing from the A class that some feisty B riders could jump up and steal the glory!

Did i mention the Tulip festival, walking trails, canteen and the award winning playground?? Hell, bring the whole family.

I heard it was an amazing day and killer race! Congrats to the Simmer on what is (I think?) his first win!

Very good atmosphere today. Lots of cheering. Very fun race to watch. Not to mention Ryan Leech. That guy is unreal. Great job Hub Cycle!

Yeah, what a day. Fairytale weather and Hollywood course conditions. What an amazing venue to bring the family to.

Nice to see a 115+ field! Lots of good action in all classes it seemed. it's so refreshing not to have 16+ categories- nice and simple with A,B,C and F- good stuff.

The Simmer was on fire! By the time I bridged up to within striking distance of the podium about 1/2 way through the first lap he was already long gone and I never saw a glimpse of him! I'm sure many of us will have to endure more of those beatings in the future to come!
Tossed seems to have discovered training and speedwork on his 41st birthday!??! Early in the race i watched him disappearing up a climb with Marty Gras, Mac 10 and The Simmer while I tried to grow an additional lung- madness!
Seemed to be LOTS of fast people in the B class too. I usually lap a good chunk of faces that i never saw today. Everyone's winter work seems to be paying off!

Finally, deadly fine work by Hub Cycle and their merry band of vounteers. Another memorable VS event for the books- Congrats!

Gonna be a great season!!

great event thanks to all who helped pull it off

any results up yet?

It is true I believe this was my first win in the A category. It's a strange feeling knowing that the wolves are chasing you down!- but enjoyed every minute of it. I'd like to thank everyone for making the trip up and to the Hub crew for all of their hard work.

A good time thanks to Bruce, Daisy, and their awesome crew. It sure was nice to be at the front with the cool kids for awhile (a short while but good nonetheless). I'll have to work on that. I spent 1/2 the race wondering when Marty would fade but no go, the kid needs a few more sleepless nights, I guess.

Thanks to Hub Cycles and the many volunteers for the great event... still can't believe the turn-out in the respective categories! :)
This was my first NS event, will be back for Wentworth in July and maybe one or two more before the end of the year!

What an awesome day!! The atmosphere was just amazing - tons of people were out (riders, volunteers, parents) all stoked for the race, gorgeous day, fun and dry course... Thanks Hub crew for putting it on and for ordering the summer weather for it;)

Does summer in Nova Scotia start with the mtb season opener?

P.S. Special thanks to Bruce and Daisy for recognizing the top three women in B category. It was little unexpected, but greatly appreciated by all of the women's field.

Another great production from the Hub team. Many thanks! Ryan Leech was, as always, an incredible show... to say nothing about him lining up with the B Cat first! I'm not sure if there's a nicer guy out there to boot.

I think the highlight of the day for me was getting to see Bo9 do his first race... he cried when he crossed the finish line because it was over!

Thanks again Hub!

Oh, and congratulations to Simmer for taking the the win on home turf!

Great season opener, huge thanks to Bruce, Daisy and the Hub crew, they sure know how to organize an event (I can't wait for all the other races that they are organizing this year). Congrats to Simmer, he was flying out there, even without the hometurf advantage he is sure to land on the podium on a consistent basis.

Awesome race, awesome people, awesome weather. What an incredible day, big thanks to everyone that made it possible!

Thanks Hub Cycle Crew!
The kids and I just relived every inch of the track over breakfast. What a great way to start the season! The many hours you put in to pull off such a great event are greatly appreciated!

This event was awesome! Thanks to Bruce and Daisy and their team. The course was packed, action everywhere! So much positive energy. It was truly an Atlantic event with folks coming out from other provinces.

Thanks to Daisy and Bruce at Hub Cycle and all the volunteers for the amazing event. Was my first race ever, and had tons of fun. Also there was someone that lent me $5 for my plate (I had brought $25 for entry) but I'm not sure his name and couldn't find him that day. If it's you post up/msg me and I'll meet up with you at another race this year, and I'll tack on a couple beers for your hospitality.

Hey Harvolev,
That was me who let you have the $5.00.Don't worry about it.I knew how you felt, and it would have been a hassle for you to go back to town for the money.
Just play it forward at your next cycling event and help someone else out if they need it.
Thanks,
Alan

Thanks Alan, I'll be sure to pass along the good will. It's things like this that make the biking community what it is. I'm sure I'll see you around. Thanks again.

Never stop pedaling
