Earlier this evening a specially convened meeting of the WBL (Winter Bike League) Board of Directors declared that the night of Sunday, Dec 5th shall be declared the "WBL Season Starter Party". This is not to be confused with the more regularly scheduled "Just Another Weekend Piss-Up Party". The Season Starter party is very special. Special enough, in fact, to warrant its own name.
Run in conjunction with the 2010 BNS Awards at Durty Nelly's (6-9pm+) the WBLSSP segment of the evening will commence once all minors have left the premises and/or Hotwheels has been asked by management to settle down (usually around 11pm).
Note that the WBLSSP participation is restricted to the following people: WBL membership, WBL groupies, cyclists, hot singles, those who like to party and smoke bumming hobos. WBL members will be giving autographs but most likely only to barstaff as they sign their tabs. Recording devices are frowned upon, floppy hats, blue suede shoes and cocktail dresses are not frowned upon.
To celebrate the formation of their younger, more ambitious summer sibling- The MBL (Morning Bike League)- the WBL will be challenging the spunky MBL membership to jagerbomb contests throughout the night. Those who participate in both clubs will be expected to consume for both clubs.
We encourage submission of nominees for the Annual WBL Awards. Titles such as 'Biggest Bitch Legs', ' Most Consistant No-Show', 'Earliest Burn Out of the Season' and 'Most Sportsmanlike Conduct Award (presented by our own Rider 101 of course) will be up for grabs.
In true WBL fashion, festivities will continue until only a small group of party-hardened attendees remain. Best make adjustments to the Monday AM work schedule beforehand and out-of-towners should arrange overnight accomodations.
