begginer flowy trails in the valley?

Hey guys

I want to take my wife out to the valley to ride some flowy trails this (thanks giving) weekend as all the stuff in the HRM is well, not so flowy lol.

She is a begginer but things like P2 and the bottom half of the gorge would be ok for her (not the stunts obviously!), I wouldn't mind riding in a group but she'd be pretty slow so if its chilled its all good.

Any other sugestions? What are the xc trails like? Where are they?

Cheers!

There's some excellent beginner level trails not far from the Gorge. They are accessable from the railway tracks and are opposite the Nursing Home on the main road, which is also opposite the exit to P2. A good ride is to climb to the top of the Gorge, pedal over to P2, go to the bottom, do a loop of the bird sanctuary (trail described above) and pedal back to the Gorge.
I might be available to give a tour on Saturday.

Hey man thanks.

I appreciate teh offer of a tour, but trust me, it will be really slow going, I'll do it because she is my wife and I want her to learn, but I wouldn't put other people through it :)

I haven't had a good ride in the valley this year yet, which is something I plan to change too, had a good but short rip with PJ at ward but got rained out...

hello, I plan to ride the race trail as well, but would be available to go for a beginner tour before or after. What time were you planning to be there?

Not 100% on time/day yet, guess it will depend on the weather and whether she is still keen to go...

I can PM you when I know whats going on for sure!

ok let me know :) if anyone else is interested we could do a beginner ride in the am and an advanced ride in the pm.

So at the gorge I've done the ride up to the tower, down I guess teh "main" trail to the FR play ground, back up to the dirt road, over to P2 and then down that. But I know there are other sneaky trails in there, is tehre a map of some sort?

^^^^^I have one in my head. There's basically a massive XC loop, the FR park area, and the 2 DH runs that go from the top to the bottom. Everything in the Gorge leads to the same areas, so its just a matter of getting on the bike and exploring. Most of the XC would be a mess now. The park is always good, and the DH sections are armored well and drain off water pretty good. Those are the areas that will be good to ride in the fall. P2 for some reason drains very well and is rideable untill the snow fly's.
